APPLICATION PROCESS:
·
Application Process can be
started as far as 6 months and should be no later than 30 days in advance.
The Florida Marriage License is valid for 60 days after the Clerk of
Courts has validated the license. If you are applying for a Florida
Marriage License less than 30 days in advance from date of wedding, you must
call Say I Do Weddings, Inc. at 352-536-2871 and additional fees may apply.
·
Once the application,
payment and necessary paperwork has been completed and received by Say I Do
Weddings, Inc. then this will be submitted to the Courthouse for processing.
The Florida Marriage License will be sent to the Bride and Groom which
requires them to appear before a Notary Public for their signatures (COUPLE
MUST DOUBLE CHECK SPELLING AND ERRORS).
Bride and Groom MUST read the
Family Law Handbook, and
sign the Required
Premarital Statement acknowledging they have read the Handbook.
NOTE: Notary Public must sign the Florida Marriage License and place
his/her seal in the appropriate areas. The seal can either be a
embossed seal, stamp of embossed seal or an ink stamp of seal.
However, there must be a seal for notary public on documents for the
appropriate processing. This is to insure that the license is
not rejected. Then you will need to return the marriage license
and the completed premarital statement
immediately to Say I Do Weddings, Inc. for
additional processing through the Clerk of Courts.
·
Say I Do Weddings, Inc.
will return to Courthouse for further validation of the Florida Marriage
License.
·
Courthouse will then
provide the valid Florida Marriage License to Say I Do Weddings, Inc.
Say I Do Weddings, Inc. will then send the valid Florida Marriage License to
Wedding Coordinator to present to Officiant/Notary for the day of the
Wedding (If requested by couple, this can be sent back to bride and groom
for them to present to Officiant/Notary on day of the wedding.
NOTE: A FLORIDA MARRIAGE LICENSE IS REQUIRED FOR THE OFFICIANT/NOTARY
TO PERFORM CEREMONY.)
·
Once the officiant/notary
has completed the ceremony and signed the license, then the officiant/notary
will mail the license back to the Courthouse, and then the certified copy of
the license will then be mailed directly to the bride and groom. If
you require additional copies of the license, it is strongly suggested that
you request these copies in advance. At least one additional copy is
recommended for foreign couples (additional fee of $3.00 per copy is
necessary, but must be cash given to officiant/notary on date of ceremony to
send in along with license for final processing.)
Any questions regarding this
process should be directed to Say I Do Weddings, Inc. at 352-536-2871.
